Welcome to the Shire of Sigelhundas

Welcome to the new home of the website.  If you see this message you can post and it will be saved.

Please bear with us as the site is undergoing a complete rebuild.  Information will appear slowly as we get the site up to date.

The Shire of Sigelhundas is part of the Society for Creative Anachronism, an international non-profit group which aims at having fun while researching and sharing practical elements of the Middle Ages (officially, "pre-17th century Western culture"-- but don't be surprised to see Romans, Samurai, Aztecs, and Musketeers; generally, anyone who had any contact with Europeans before about 1625).

Sigelhundas, the SCA name for Regina, is a rough translation of `Sun Dogs' into Old English, an image which we've incorporated into the shire's heraldry shown above.  Sigelhundas is located in Avacal which consists of Saskatchewan, Alberta, and the eastern parts of British Columbia.  Avacal is a principality of of the kingdom of An Tir.

If you are new to the Shire or new to the SCA please check out the Chatelaine's page.  The Chatelaine is something like the group's "Welcome Wagon" and will be happy to help you find your way.

We meet weekly on Sunday at 7pm in Room 431 in the UofR Classroom Building.  For a list of the topics of the coming weekly meetings, please check the calendar or events page.
